I have done extensive research on my mos 92y and have failed to get any information from someone who has experience with this mos. I have a few questions that I would appreciate if someone could answer.

1. What can the work enviorments range from?
2. Any benefits of going airborne and ranger with this mos?
3. What exactly did you do in ait? How was ft lee in general?
4. If I am deplyed to Iraq or Afghanistan is there anyway i can experience combat?
5. What do you feel are the pros and cons of this mos?
6. Do you think it is easy to find a civilian or gov't career relating to this mos after the army?

1. What can the work environments range from?
A. You can find yourself in virtually any environment because as a supply specialist you can be stationed in almost every unit.
2. Any benefits of going airborne and ranger with this mos?
A. I've wanted to go airborne for years but havn't been in a unit that has need for that skill. Get it in your contract before you ship.
3. What exactly did you do in AIT? How was ft lee in general?
A. AIT was mostly classwork with a little field exercise called log warrior(life in the barracks will probably be the hardest part). FT LEE isn't too bad...if you're lucky you'll see the bowling alley or the mall while you're there
4. If I am deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan is there anyway i can experience combat?
A. I have not been deployed but have 92Y friends that have and yes they have been shot at.
5. What do you feel are the pros and cons of this mos?
A.PROS- cut-off scores for promotion are fairly low and you work with the leadership alot which is great if you know what youre doing. Youre everybody's friend because you always have something they need.
CONS--you might get tagged with key custodian and armorer duties(less time to do your main job)alot of paperwork and filing(I looked forward to going to the field to get out of the office)
6. Do you think it is easy to find a civilian or gov't career relating to this mos after the army?[/quote]
A. logistics is a huge field so there will always be work to be found. Go to usajobs.com and you'll find some of the better jobs for logisticians

Man you got a good mos in IMHO. I have been trying to get something in logistics but apparently it isn't going to happen. Like cabrerab said there is plenty of work waiting for you when you get out. Good Luck.
