don't know what that would entail. i assume that it depends on the unit. if you are in an infantry unit you will probably have long irregular hours. if i were interested in being an ammunition specialist, i would do so as a civilian. the ones in fort jackson work from 7 am to 4 pm on weekdays, rarely on weekends...except those that drive the ammo truck to the ranges.
hello,i was a ammo specalist a long tome ago,and it was called 55b.Was it changed???like the one guy said, that depends,us "ammo humpers"as we were called back in the day,did alot of things!!!We issued ammo.we stacked ammo,we moved alot of it from place to place.I was stationed at ft stewart.ga and boy!!!The summers were HELL!!!I really enjoyed my time at redstone, and so did alot of other people.I really wanted to go to eod school, but back then,us girls wern't allowed to.I also drove the rt forklift sometimes,i also was hurt a few times doing my job.We used to get real early in the morning when a train would come in and we would fininsh our work before it got too hot.It got very hot in ga!!!You know it's hot when it's 95 degrees with 100% huminity, wow!!Sometimes it was ALOT of hard work, but we had fun.LoRI baumgartner
