Basic Training

I am a new load at Dover on C-5's. Once I am fully qualified, how hard would it be to PCA (I think it's called cross flow or something like that) to the C-17 squadron? I know to PCS you need to be at your first duty station for 2 years but I am not sure what the requirement for this would be. I probably wouldn't do it for a year or two anyway if I do decide to try and switch airframes.

I thought you had to give them 3 years on your airframe after training before swapping to a different airframe. I could be wrong, but that's the number I remember being told.

Hopefully someone will reply with the real info, or a reg cite.

If you are AD then you are going to run into the brick wall of training dates. They just don't exist very often to crossflow a qualified load into another airframe when the slots are needed for new loads. Unless you unit is closing your chances of crossflow are very small. The air force needs you where you are at, and they need the C-17 slot for somebody who is at lackland. That is what you will be told if you call AFPC assignments.
