I'm a new commissionee with a CSO slot. I'll start school in June of 2010 and was wondering if anyone had any info on the new training.

I know they're moving everything to the NAS in Pensacola, heavies and fighters, but I haven't been able to find anything on the length of training at the NAS or how your final slot is selected.

One of the main things I'm curious about is if I'll be on the CSO path all the way through, or if they start everyone with the CSO title and then differentiate trainees into the final CSO, WSO and EWO pathways later on in training.

Also, any info from current navs on the good, bad and ugly concerning their jet and base would be wonderful. I'll be toting a wife with me, but no kids..only birds.

Thanks all!

It'll be about 8 months; you'll go to IFS, do ground school/water survival, then fly the T-6 for ~25 hours and the T-1 and sims for the rest. Everyone will get the exact same nav and EWO training; you will then select at the end based on grades etc and can get anything from KC-135 to F-15E.
