Well, since I was never inside a fighter and was in transports the whole time I was in, mine would have to be:

1) C-141A emphasis on the A
2) C-130 only if I had to

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

Some hate her. Some say she's old, ugly, and moves too slow. Not me though. While my affair with her was brief and troubled, I loved her:

A decade later, I remember every flight with her as if it was only minutes ago.

Probably the C-141.

As much as I complain about it every chance I get, I think the Mighty Herk is running about even with the 141.

Hey that's one of my favorite planes too, a KC135, though you are only showing the wing. Big Grin
Notice how the tanker has to lower flaps in order to fly slow enough to air-refuel the Hogs.

This is probably a real familiar sight to you. Wink

The guy in the cockpit was the good friend of ours who died in a plane crash last week. People used to joke that he was a shutterbug at heart who just flew silly airplanes on the side. Turns out he has an extensive photo collection on the web...I'm still working my way through all the galleries.

God Speed and god bless, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss, flying is a dangerous profession, I'm sure he wouldn't haven't any other way. I pray from his family.

Thanks guys. It's not me anyone should be worried about, but thanks all the same.

With regard to the photo gallery, my guy is going to check in with the wifey left behind on Monday and see how she and the kids are doing. She'll tell him straight up - they go back that far, as I do not. Life is full of judgement calls...

Again, thanks for your concern. We're still answering phone calls and emails that come in from around the world with regard to this sad event.

I didn't intend to hijack this thread...please post on about favorite airplanes...I'll guarantee you he, for one, would have enjoyed the discussion. Smile

My favorite is the best transport platform eve r flown, the C-5. It may get a bad name but nothing better to get big cargo from here to there.

If it burns AV Gas,I love it! If it has a propeller,it's even better!
Let's harken back to the days of half drunk Naval Aviators and their cobbled together, shot up Warbirds!
Just thinking of Lt/Col. Greg "Pappy" Boyington and his band of Heros in VMA 214 flying the Chance Vought F4U-1D "Corsair".
I know, whats a Damned Jarhead doing prowling around an Air Farce page? Well you asked what my favorite Airplane was, that's why!
You guys aren't near as bad as the Sailors say you are anyway,my Nephew S/Sgt Aurthur Renaud was in town from Ramstien AFB in Germany recently.I am in awe of his Career choice and his training, you AF types rock!

Hi everyone,
Seeing the pictures sure brings back memories!
My first time posting to the AF forum.
I worked on tail #60-0050 at Ellsworth in 1977,
as a "window washer and tire kicker".
I like all aircraft, but my vote is for the BUFF.
SHOUT OUT to any 28th OMS Buds.

Well, since I was a fighter crew chief for my 20 years,(1)would be the F-4 C,D,and E.(2) would be the F-106.And (3) would be a tie between the A-10, and A-7D.
