So how realistic is the combat in call of duty modern warfare compared to real life action?

Hmmmm tough question. I would say the closest thing to REAL combat in the game compared to real life is the mission when your the AC-130 "Spooky" gunner. Other than that, its a game. Although there is one mission that is pretty crazy. The one when your in , I believe Fallujah, and your surrounded buy insurgents and busted up buildings and houses. Everywhere you turn is insurgents and gunfire. Thats one hell of a mission. I dont think its very realistic though. Of course I wouldn't know, I've never been in the Army.

It's no more realistic then any of the other Call of Duty games. The plot is like a Tom Clancy Novel but the atmosphere is more like a modern war movie. The Middle East Segments were very influenced by Black Hawk Down in tone.

It's hard to say there's much realism in a game where you heal by not getting injured for about 10 seconds, or where pretty much any car can explode, or bad guys will pour out of the woodwork until you pass a certain arbitary line.

However, the game is fun, looks good and just..works. It's short, but very fun. The AC130 mission is awesome.

If I had a pet peeve, it's that the Marines invade a small, UNNAMED middle eastern country that just happens to look a lot like Iraq but great pains are made to avoid ever saying the name of the country that thousands of marines are invading.

I was surprised(Pleasantly) that the game managed to deal with nuclear terrorism and a war in the middle east without making a political statement one way or the other, something I didn't think would be possible.

I would say. If you like shooters, buy it. If you liked military themed shooters, Buy it NOW!

Same here, I have played all of the call of duty games each has there own good points however, this is the first one on the Xbox 360 I just bought..

VERY FREAKING cool game and I have not done all of the missions yet just bought it a coupld days ago, but I agree the spooky is the best mission so far, I keep replaying that one, I swear, if you watch the video on mil.com about the gun ship attack, that sounds alot like it.

In the tone and way they speak, and yeah, pretty realistic, for a game at least. I mean, you wont know unless you been there, leaves me out, but a game is a game.

With that said though, I never liked first person shooters, still dont, COD games are the only ones I play like that, Medal of honor sometimes, but COD is my favorite.

I am not a 6 hours player either, may take me weeks to get to the finish.... or longer.

I think its worth the buy..

Its alot of fun, and I like the cross over speech to, this one has more realistic speech, guys talking all the time...

The HUNTED mission was pretty cool too...

Just wish I knew how to get online with it, dont understand all that online live play, never had cable before so now that I do, I dont know what to do to get it... LOL

TUV, the only game I have played online was HALO: 3 or 4 whichever it is. Anyways I didnt really like it. I dont HALO anyways. COD is schznit. I love COD :4. I just wish there was a mission where you HALO'd in to an AO and actually had control of the chute. Kinda like a team mission. I'm sure that will come soon enough though. I dont remember what the HUNTED mission is?

My son was a master at the HALO games I would buy them and in days he would have played through on each setting, even the hardest and he would kick azz..

Hunted is in the beginning of the game, your sneaking through the fields.. Pretty cool.

So far nothing has beaten the Spectre mission Death from above.. Totally kick asz.

LOVE the COD games.

Must be something wrong with the way I manage my time. About the only games I have time to play are MS Hearts and Freecell. My daughter gave me her old game... "The Real Tournament" (something like that - a shoot em' game). I loaded it up, played it for about 20 minutes, got a phone call and haven't started it since.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter. I can always pop an action movie in the DVD.
