First, I would like to say this is one happenin' Forum! Jesus H. Christ, it's like a rave party in here! All joking aside, I see that not many individuals visit here and post that frequently, but what I've read of some of the posts, there is a bit of hostility here. That's nothing new to me, since I came aboard to Mil.Com in March 2001.

I did happen to notice the posts on the "Interest only or conventional mortgage" thread. I read "ajm184" posts and I STAND by his responses. There are many scam artists out there and I should know, I was a Police Detective in a moderately-sized, urban City in NJ for 26 years, before I retired in June 2004. For the last seven years as a Detective there, I worked Fraud jobs (cases), and by some of the posts I viewed here, I see FRAUD stamped on many of them. The one to three posts "marauders" who peddle their websites here are incredible and I cannot believe this thread is NOT Moderated.

I especially liked where "LoveyKay" posted a hyperlink to her website, then ajm184 responded and then "numbers" responded to 184. After I clicked on Kay's and "numbers" profiles, I learned that their last names are Sullivan! So those two are posting in concert with each other. It's truly amazing the fraud and the ads that are posted here to lure unsuspecting individuals to purchase their 'suspicious' products which are posted for free!

In closing, I just wish to say that I'll be dropping in here from time to time to post my investment stategies, mainly Stocks and Options. I will NOT promote ANY particular Stock to cause a "pump and dump" scheme, I will just mention what I own, selling or NOT buying and mainly to exchange ideas with anyone who wishes to participate.

For the individuals who are really interested in Finance and Investing, not bullshit.

Not alot of responses, because frankly there is alot better, more consistent expertise to be had at other financial websites that are easily found.

That leaves people looking to make a quick buck with little supervision. There have been some interesting ideas discussed, such as investing in tax liens.

Thanks for responding and you're correct, there many more websites that can be easily located. I'm just angry that many of the posters who posted Topics here, were hyping their own websites for free, just for some unsuspecting individual to click on them and possible "subscribe" or purchase something from them. YOU and I know both know who there are and what puzzles me is that they are doing it on the Mil.com website...and getting away with it!

Investing in stock markets are limited to a certain extend unless you are investing in a small company that has growth potential. If you prefer aggressive mutual funds there is a chance that you may lose money in a bear market.

There is an alternative to investing in stocks. Forex (foreign exchange) funds profit in a BULL or BEAR market , therefore increases the chance of larger and consistent gains, unlike stocks. If you want more details on what forex is please do a search on the internet.

BTW the forex market exchange 1.9 trillion dollars per DAY around the world. That is more than the U.S. budget in 2 months. You not regret investing in the forex market.

Are you dumb everyday or just for today? Your are posting a 'SOLICITATION" to an "ADVERTISEMENT", therefore it is in violation of the TOS!

This has not been an actively moderated forum for the most part. However it is still in our radar scan. Although the TOS state that solicitations of any kind will not be tolerated, in practice and by recent precedent, mil.com has allowed them to occur in this forum area as well as the Classifieds forum. However, USMCVET has some valid points and I think they should be more visible therefore I am going to post this thread at the top for all to see more readily. Further, I am going to close it as I see no use in it becoming a debate forum on the issue.

The bottom line is that readers should perform due diligence with respect to any offerings posted here. Caveat Emptor!
