Actually moving to DC. Are you going to McPherson by any chance? If so, and you are looking to rent a house I have a VERY nice one available. Thanks

DC area has some good school systems, depending on where you are stationed. If at Walter Reed, Montgomery County, MD has good schools. Some Virginia School systems are also very good. My son lives in Silver Spring, MD so I know about the MD side. Depending on your NO. VA duty station you may be in a great district. Also I have read in the Wash Post that there are some good DC charter schools that where Catholic schools that chnaged to charter.
As far as I know there is not help for private schools, and you can expect to pay most of your Army check for a private school, in any location. Religous schools are less expensive, and all private schools offer financial aide based on need, but this is not a great time given the market conditions.
I would focus on finding a good school district to live in and an area served by good schools.

The military will not help you pay for private school. You can speak to the school to see if they do take income into consideration or if they have grants/scholarships themselves. Otherwise it will be out of pocket.
Just remember that it is not always a requirement that teachers at a private school have a Bachelor's degree. i have heard countless stories over the years in which the children there were being taught by teachers who didn't. Sometimes public schools are just as good and there is conditions for military families can choose from any school in the district.
