I am seriously considering joining the Navy. However, I have been getting conflicting information in regards to whether or not I'd be eligible. I recently filed chapter 7 bankrupcty, which will have been discharged by the time I enlisted. I know that effects a lot of things, however I have also been working (and bonded) in the financial industry for over seven years. What are the rules/guidelines for enlisting with a bankrupcty on your record? Can it be something that I could get a waiver on?

Bankruptcy is not going to disqualify you. On the paperwork wherever it asks simply mark yes and explain it if necessary. For security clearances, be detailed in your explanation. There are literally hundreds of thousands of bankrupt financial services professionals out there. The market itself is not within an indvidual's control.
