Well I'm not going to lie, originally when I joined NJROTC I was doubtful, and usually made fun of the Navy. But after being in the program I have to hand it to you all that you keep the US running just as importantly as any other military branch, maybe even more. I salute you from the depths of my heart, you guys put your lives on the line every day, it means a whole lot to me and others here in Ohio.

Wishing you all the best, and Merry Christmas,
Steve

Wow! Thats fantastic.... I had just recently went to Great Lakes, IL to see my daughter graduate from Basic Training. She is in the Navy as well. She is in the Hospital Corpsman Program studying to be a Surgeon. I was extremely impressed with the level of respect that the soldiers have for each other and for the public. I was in the mess hall geting some food to and was about to carry my tray back to my table when a male soldier politely told me that he would carry my tray for me to my table. I had felt that it wasn't a real big deal but the soldier incisted and took my tray and took it to the table for me. My daughter explained to me later that the men thre are very respectful of the females here. It doesn't matter if you're a civilian or military.

That had really moved me which brought tears to my eyes. I wish that in the school system that more ex marine or Navy Seals would venture out to the public high schools to put some of those misfit kids in check... Whome ever reads this colum, please take my advice and forward it to the appropriate person who could do this, especially in the urban neighborhoods across the nation.

Giggabyte -
i was in the NJROTC and believe me it was extremely different I always have respect for those, but you cant make kids take the class that don't want too. I know that most people want it to be like that but sadly some kids just don't want to be saved
