Okay so I know there were some threads before about it, but I swear I used the find button and didn't find anything. LOL. I actually have 2 different questions.

1. DOG PEE! My puppy keeps peeing in this same spot and it's driving me insane. We even bought a steam cleaner to clean the area rug really well. Of course I didn't use the heat on it because I have been told that the heat will make it set in more. I have used vinegar and water also. I have soaked the area and then sucked it up for hours. I am just not really sure what to do to get the smell out, and make it clean for when the baby comes. Any ideas?

2. The bathtub. I HATE having my bathtub look dirty, and I have tried the Soft Scrub stuff, and it doesn't seem to have done any good. I don't want to waste my money trying a million different things, so I am wondering if anyone had any suggestions on soap scum removal?? What brands worked well for you?

Oh this is so my thing, I even posted a blog on myspace about it. Smile

1. Sorry, dog pee is there to stay! Once it soaks into the carpet pad there is no getting rid of it (other than to replace the pad of course). With that in mind, a neutralizer like Arm & Hammer, Woolite, etc pet odor removers sprayed every few days will help cut down on the smell.

2. Easiest first thing to try is a dry powder like Comet with a barely damp sponge. This will keep from watering down the cleaner and will also keep traction to scrub. If that doesn't work try the Magic Eraser (Matt needs to do this while you're pregnant but it's so easy he won't mind). If none of that works you may need something heavy duty like CLR.

Happy Cleaning (oh I am such a nerd!!)!! Beer

Actually it is an area rug. This is why it is annoying me so badly because it should be coming out! LOL! So I did pull it up and bleach under it, and steam cleaned flip side of it and then did the top again. Hopefully when it dries tomorrow there will have been atleast some bit of a difference. I am sure I will still need some advice. Before I had done vinegar with baking soda and I so recomend that (and did several times when someone had asked), but it doesn't seem to be working this time! I think a new box of baking soda may be in order!

LOL matt clean the bathroom!?!?! I will just buy a mask. I spent my entire time pregnant with kaitlyn deep in cleaners every night and no issue with them. (nasty fast food!)

Thank you VERY VERY much though. LOL!! I really was thinking about comet but wasn't really sure how well it would do.

I am also a fan of the good old fashioned Comet too...although lately I have been tempted to try that "automatic" one that you hang on the shower head and just give it a little press after each shower. Sounds a little too good to be true (and also kinda ugly to keep in there) but I was curious if anyone else has tried it?

Dog pee--don't have a clue, but tubs---I'm a pro at too. Smile Was a house cleaner at one time. Wink

Here are my favorites:
1. Magic Eraser. Fantastic for those tubs with the textured floors!
2. Scrubbing Bubbles. Use the actual brand, not the knock off.
3. Baking soda and vinegar paste.
4. SimpleGreen--works great on ALL kinds of stuff. And it smells good too---reminds me of licorice. Wink

Oh ok, yeah hopefully when it dries it will work. If not try one of those neutralizers I mentioned,

I want to try that automatic cleaner too!! It looks so awesome. One word of caution though, I don't know where you're living and how old it is but my apt's shower looks dirty but I've decided it's just the wear of the porcelain - NO cleaner will make it come up, I hate it! With the Magic Eraser use mask + gloves - google it and children and you'll see why. Razz

This works better than most we have tried. Just soak up as much of the pee as you can with a towel and then soak the spot with the Simple Solutions. When it dries it should be odor/stain free but sometimes it takes more than one application. The good news is that they sell it in large jugs so you can just refill the spray bottle.

Okay----just an FYI on the Magic Eraser and kids myth. It's just that--a myth. There is no formaldhyde or anything else that will harm you or the baby----unless you EAT the sponge. Which, we know you won't be doing. Wink

Oh I am totally getting a Swiffer when we move - as long as we are in an apartment and only have a 7 ft long stretch of hard floor, I am NOT using my big regular mop, it's a waste of time and water. Plus the only time anything gross gets on it is if I spill formula anyways. My favorite of all Swiffer products though is the duster - those suckers really do grab on to that dust! I love them for ceiling fans and electronics.

Thanks ladies. I am def gonna have to get down and dirty this week with the tub. Part of the tub is because it's old, and the other part really is our fault. LOL! Our neighbors tub SPARKLES and it made me jelous, unfortunatly they don't do it, they have a cleaner who does. They said they would ask what they use for me, but seriously who remembers to ask their cleaner what htey use in their tub. LOL!

And yes, the second Matt leaves, I am getting a Swiffer for my floors! He won't have it right now because we just bought this steam cleaner that does floors also, but it doesn't get under the counter very well. I can't wait to get one. LOL!

Okay so since I don't have a Petsmart and they don't ship to APO addresses Mad I went to the BX, and Hoover actualy had an Enzyme spray that you just apply to the carpet and let it sit. (my steam cleaner is bissel and they didn't have any pet solution for that machine Roll Eyes) So far it smells okay but it said to wait 3-5 hours. I will let you all know about that.

I also went ahead and got some Comet with bleach. It did a pretty good job. I had to do it twice though. I think maybe I am going to try something else to get the remainder out. Atleast now it looks like it did when we first got here. Comet is cheap too LOL, I forgot how cheap it really was! It even got some of the rust off of my stainless steal counters. (isn't that stuff not supposed to get rust on it??)

I found a coupon for the swiffer too $3.00 off! Can't wait to buy it. haha!

Ok I am about to fuss you out for using bleach while you're pregnant. You said you use a mask, right? Big Grin Big Grin Eh I have no right to say a word, I was mopping and scrubbing until I couldn't bend over to do so anymore. Afterall, DH was coming home for Exodus at the end of my pregnancy and I HAD to have the house spotless!

There is some website I went to where I put in my name and address and I got this huge booklet of coupons from companies like Swiffer, Febreze, etc. In the morning I am going to try to figure out what the website was so that I can share. Smile

Haha yeah I am pretty sure stainless steel is not supposed to rust. Housing is just keeping you on your toes, I guess. Smile

LOL! I mop my floors with bleach! Bleach is actually okay to use while pregnant as long as you are in a ventilated area.

Ooh I want the sight. LOL!!
