I have read mixed reviews about Alli, but not everything works for everyone. If anyone has any experiences with it, negative or positive, please let me know.

The one thing I've heard--and this is from a few soldiers via my husband--was that if they went over the amount of fat that's allowed, they're stools are oily and runny....that's a dealbreaker for me right there! lol....I won't deal with that at all...

My friend took it for about a week. She couldn't take it anymore because it's true, if you go over the amount of fat, you are in the bathroom. It's not just watery, it's WATER! and you know when you poop like that your stomach is not happy. She was in pain and gassy. just off of one meal. Too much cheese/fat. I felt terrible, we were on a weekend "getaway" at a resort here too. Poor thing! Just be prepared if you try it that it may cause those side effects if you really don't watch what you eat.

I have friends who swear by it, and I've used it myself--yes you get gassy and poop like your stomach is unhappy; but the purpose of it is more to stop fat/oil absorption. Stay within the means of fat/oil consumption and you're good to go I'd rather get all that grease out than added to my already blubbery layer. But again, be warned--over consumption of oil and you better have the toilet near by and watch your toots!

anal leakage! that right there is enough for me to never try it. It sounds like more of a tool to teach you to eat better rather then really doing anything. You eat bad you pay for it.

LMAO!! Okay, I didn't want to say the words "anal leakage"....but in a sense that's what it is. You will go thru more TP and do more laundry that way...lol....talk about your 'racing stripes'....goodness...almost choked on my coffee....

The noises that were coming out of her bathroom made me never want to try it. It was terrible! I told her thank you for setting the example of why doing it the natural way is always better for you! yuck!

I read about a girl that was taking it and had 'an accident' while running on the treadmill at the gym! NO THANKS!

I'm in the "no thanks" club. I eat a lot of fiber so I'm gassy enough without taking something to make it worse.

I know someone who's taking it and it really works. She had 2 "incidents" but that was from movie popcorn and pizza. Those are a given. She said it was just loose and urgent.

No dripping on the treadmill or "Wetting her pants". Although secretly I would love to hear a story like that. Too funny!

I know this is kinda late but I figured this thread may still be active. The one thing you must realize with Allie (the brand name is Xenical) is that it will only work if you're actually ingesting a good bit of fat. It works by removing the fat you're eating and that's why the stools are so soft and accidents can happen.

If you're eating a very healthy diet that is low in fat then Alli/Xenical is not going to help you lose weight. I took it for 3 months and was prescribed to take 2 before every meal. I had a few incidents but nothing too dramatic. When I saw a new doctor after the full 3 month trial I was explained that I was eating "too healthy" for Alli to work. That's when it was explained that the function of this pill is to absorb excess amounts of fats that you eat and excrete it from your bowels. So if you're eating a low fat diet to begin with Alli is a waste of money. For me that meant over $150 in just 3 months.
