I want to lose about 10 pounds before my husband comes home from his basic training. I live by myself so I'm looking for healthy meal ideas for one. Also, any good exercises for slimming down the legs and arms. I'm looking to be more defined but not to much bulk (Don't want Madonnas arms).

Thanks Smile

Running...it will slim u down big time!! start running and keep going...also for meals...lots of lean protein like chicken, fish, anything like that! small portions, no snacks, calorie free drinks, especially lots of water. Keep lots of fruits and veggies on hand. a great thing rite now is grilling...cuz it's lower in fat and is in season rite now. Use lots of spices to flavor things without adding any calories. It takes planning. So plan what you can eat the nite before so ur not getting so hungry that you just grab whats in sight.

Also, dont wait til your starving to eat. Eat small portions about 6 times a day! only eat til your satisfied not til your full!!!

It works...just takes work and hard work i might add...but there is no better or healthier way to do it. Dont use diet pills and just eat simple healthy foods. Oatmeal is also a great one for breakfast tahts healthy. the more back to the farm you get with your foods, like not processed foods...like the kind you actually have to cook...the better! go online they ahve tons of healthy recipes...go online to the foodnetwork website....they ahve great recipes and jus keep everything in moderation! i've lost 71/2 lbs. in the last 2 weeks doing all this stuff!!! good luck!

eating for life is a good cook book for small meals. Most of the recipes are one or two portions. so you could make it and save some for another night.

I will never know Myself until I do this on my own
And I will never feel Anything else until my wounds are healed
I will never be Anything 'til I break away from me
And I will break away
I'll find myself today

veggies veggies veggies! They will fill you up with little calories. your plate should be at least half veggies, .25 meat and .25 carbs. Maybe try and buy a smaller plate so that you eat less. I am using our salad plates and it has made a difference. Tons of water. I drink a cup before I even touch my food and then drink one while eating. Make lunch or breakfast your biggest meal. Dinner time should be the smallest meal since you will be going to sleep soon. Try going on a walk at night too. This way it will help burn off some of what you ate for dinner.

Good luck

As a vegetarian, I obviously suggest that type of diet.

HOWEVER, I have lost 30 pounds of fat in the last six months by removing a few unnecessary foods from my diet.
-Switch to diet sodas, if you drink them.
-For coffee and tea, go to Splenda instead of sugar or other sweeteners that cause cancer.
-Instead of ****er, use a non-dairy ****er substitute. I use Smart Balance. It tastes more ****ery, and it's very smooth and creamy. Very healthy, too.
-No fast food! If you are in a time crunch, go to a deli-style place, like Jason's Deli or Subway.
-Eat less cheese. I would love to suggest one of the vegan cheese options available, but I can't. The best ones tastes like foot fungus and **** crack! Just cut back (or eliminate) how much cheese you eat, and that's helpful.
-Less bread products. Eating less breads will reduce your carb intake.

Now, I know a lot of this looks like you'll only stop the weight gain, but if you don't add weight, your body will use what you have to fuel itself, and that's when you lose the weight.
You must exercise and eat tons of fiber and round fruits like plums, peaches, apples for you snacks, instead of chips, sandwiches, and snickers bars.

It's really not a lot of changes. The first month of my diet I lost 17 pounds, then only a couple a month after that. Changing your diet always starts fast and then slows down dramatically. If it's a healthy diet, that is.

Also, if you are not a veggie, get rid of the red meat and fried meat. Chicken, fish, duck, turkey, etc, are all very customizable, and you can bake and broil without all the oil and fat.

Good Luck!

Jason
