Anyone done it? How did it work?

They are starting it where we are and a lot of AD & Spouses are signing up for it including myself and my dh. I have heard it is very good and can show results, but want to hear from other people who have done it. We both already work out 4 to 5 days a week so that isn't a challenge, it will be the eating that is. especially since they tied it in over the holidays.

it works-i have a friend who lost 45 lbs on it-but like any other carb restricted high protien diet regime-its for life-as soon as you backslide into "normal" three meals a day higher carbohydrate eating-you gain back what you lost and more. Even if you maintain the exercise you will gain some back.

It will work. but its so hard to follow its hard to stay on it. its for people that are really willing to commit to that for the rest of their lifes.

most people do fall off the wagon at some point.

We started it last week and you know it wasn't as bad as I thought. I was really hungry the first day and half the second. I can't drink 10 glasses of water, 8 is the max I can do unless i want to spend my day in the bathroom. It is hard when you are doing things like field trips with the kids, because of what we have available where we are. I think that honestly is the hardest part, where we are 1/2 the food we can't get, so we are having to substitute a lot. I did have 1 day where I did eat 3 oreos but that was more because it was that time of the month and I needed sugar. But even on my free day I wasn't that bad.

It has helped that I am actually already in the fitness area and ahead of what they want me to do.

I have not done the program, but my trick for making sure I get enough water is to have a 20 ounce bottle or cup. Fill it before breakfast lunch and dinner and finish it before and while eating, that gives you 60 of the 80 ounces that you need. So then you only have to find a way to fit in 20 more ounces, usually in the morning is best so that you aren't going ALL night long. anyways, it helps me. maybe it will help someone else.

Once your body adjusts you wont pee as much. Its just that adjustment period. Hehe See I did learn something in school.

There is a body for life for women too. That one is a good read. It breaks it down in to life mile stones so you know what you should be doing for your milestone. Its a lot more broken down with what you eat too. its got the stupid simple instructions for eating. LOL

I use the eating plan but not the work out plan. Just because some of my injures I have would be a no go for what they want you to do.

Well 3 months later I lost 4.1 pounds and 1 inch off my waist. I have to admit that I could have done better because I did cheat a few times but considering all the holidays & parties that we have had I didn't think it was too bad. We also lost our scale for 2 months because of a flood so that was a bit of it as well. Definitely can't handle a lot of sweets now or the taste of certain ones. We do eat a lot more vegetables & fruit.

One friend only lost 1 lb but 5 inches off her waist. Dh lost 15 lbs and 2 inches.

The one thing I couldn't do was drink all that water, I was so busy sometimes during the day where a bathroom wasn't always around.

Thats really good NWIP Applause

I started something similar a few months ago and I haven't lost 5-10-15-20 pounds like other people (doing other kinds of diets and exercise) but my 3 pounds feel great!
My eating habits have change and exercise is part of my daily routine.

Congratulation!!! and let's keep it up!!!!

I just weighed myself again and lost another 1/2 inch and 4.5 lbs in 2 weeks. I think being sick over the holidays and not wanting to eat helped. But it gave me that boost. Now I lost almost 10 pounds so at the weight I was before I got pregnant with our first. That is inspiration enough! I feel better about myself, notice things more lose. In fact had to go out and buy shorts/capris because not of my stuff fits me anymore. I am down to a size 11/12 even a 10 in some pants which made me feel AWESOME!!

Other ladies I spoke to said the same thing in that they didn't lose the weight like the men did which was frustrating, but now are noticing it more.

Good for you in getting some weight off, especially around the holidays! It is a great start.

You are right, lets do keep it up!!
