I revisited my previous discussion question to be more clear. I am searching for any buddies my husband may have been stationed with or that knew him. He did masonry, construction, etc. His last name is Deary. I am trying to understand some issues he has and wondering what caused them and what can be done. I thought Long Binh was mostly quiet during this time but even though he maintained that I am wondering now. Could any of you guys help me out here? Thank you all for what you have done and sacrificed.

Thanks. I tried there. I emailed several people listed there. Some were in company D, some were there earlier. I only got replies from three. I did get a picture from the commander of D company from his yearbook. I know very little. I know he received a Bronze Star. He would not talk with a VA counselor in depth. The VA counselor said he had no emotions.. I just am trying to find out why and hoping connecting with some of his friends there might help.
Thanks.

16355145 ,
Being emotionally numb is a symtom, and a good indication that a Vet 'may' have PTSD.
The only way to find out is to get a diagnosis. This can be done at a VA Vet Center.

If he is diagnosed with PTSD, he may then file for compensation from the VA.

If he does have 'un-treated' PTSD, seeing or talking to old Buddies first,... "may or may not" be a good thing.

Thank you for the info. Your comment is well advised. I will keep in mind. I have contacted someone on the PTSD forum, no answer yet. Also no answers from anyone who may have been there in Long Binh. I was hoping to gain a little insight so I could understand better and know better what to do or say. Thanks for the help.
