I've heard people tell me that the 5.56 is louder than the AK while other people say the 7.62X39 is louder, so it must be subjective.

The 5.56X45 has higher gas pressure does that make it louder?

Further, most of these weapons are available for fire for civilians at civilian ranges. Go fire them and find out BUT don't post the results here. I don't think you will find the SAW anywhere except at some local Police Departments....they might let you fire it.

You've failed to comprehend that how little your question means to anyone. Each of the listed weapons has a different cyclic rate of fire short interval and sustained. Sound means little other than pointing out in what direction the fire is originating and what weapons system its originating from. You can tell the difference by sound of an AK 47, AK 74 PKM, M16 and M249.

Sound doesnt kill or supress. Effective engagement of targets by direct and indirect fire does, thats what Infantry does.

Now step away from the keyboard and go back to the Xbox... this place is for grownups.
