Ok to start off I'm aware that questions about post locations for Airborne have been posted before however my question is not really about the post locations themselves.

To start off I FINALLY FINALLY get to sign the papers this tuesday coming up, and I'm extremeley excited about it. It has been alot of running around and so on. But like they say nothing worth having comes easy. Now I was originally for a while undecided about either taking a Comabt mos (ie infantry) or going for something that would have more civilian type training skills. Then I decided infantry but family was annoying the heck out of me so I got undecided again. Well the slot availabilities help me in my decision lol. So I'm actually happy about that cause now I don't have to go back and forth. I can just do what I really wanted to do. Well that's the explanation. Now the question.

I will be able to take an airborne option with my contract, and I know that you basically end up wherever there is Airborne, such as the 82nd or 173rd. The question is, does this mean that as long as I plan to stay in the Army I will ONLY be stationed and pcs'd to Airborne units??

Sorry if my question is confusing in any way or a stupid one. I'm just curious.

Thank you as usual for any help

Regards,
Louis

Just having Airborne in you contract and getting your wings does not guarantee an Airborne assignment.

Would you be kind enough to explain? Is what your saying that I can be Airborne qualified and get sent to a non Airborne unit?

I did not know that.

we have a few jump guys here in korea fresh outta benning.

You will not always be at a airborne unit.

there is a great chance of you going airborne after benning, but its not guaranteed
