Good Luck! Remember the first three-four weeks are the hardest, make it through those and your pretty much set. Don't be intimidated by whats in front of you. Always look at what you accomplished.....one of the main lessons of life in general that you will learn down there.
Also, it's already getting kind of chilly. Too cool already for shorts in Dallas after dark. Daytime temps are still nice. We are probably a few hundred miles further North then Ft. Benning (but way far West)

See I would have told them you were just trying to be rash onale about things.
Seriously though, you want to arrive in perfect health because the sleep deprivation and the winter weather will make you sick guaranteed. So use the delay to get in better shape or better prepared.
Don't use anti-perspirant deoderant in Basic. It can clog your pores, and when you sweat as much with the poor hygene you might have, you can get a pu$s-filled cist the size of a tennis ball under your arm. Saw a guy have that, no schit. He squeezed, and a couple of tablespoons of thick, orange/brown puss came out and hung from his arm to the ground in a big loogy-looking thing. Awesome.

Valian_Ro, now its not a full physical you just strip to your boxers get a height and weight. They tell you to lift your arms, they look at your hands, they make your bend over and see if your back bone is straight. they basically check you out head to toe really quick to see if theres anything wrong that they can see. Another guy there had dry skin on his palms and they told him he wouldnt be shipped until he saw a dermatoligist.
Reception's only harder if you're a kid used to sleeping in and always having an iPod. Then you hit 30th AG and you have wake-up times, bed-times, and no more Xboxes. Then you get downrange for Phase 1 and you're REALLY hurting then

30th is boring boring boring boring. You get little sleep the first few nights and are mad to sit or stand for hours and hours without sleeping, or talking.
It was so damn boring you wanted to quit already.
Basic is fun. A challenge for certain, but it gives you a great feeling at the end of the day. 30th.... is just monotonous boredom while being surrounded by discipline-less (?) **** bags. The drill sergeants there aren't even real drill sergeants, and they just spout off a bunch of baseless threats.
