I want to join as an Infantyman, and was wondering if going gor it is worth all the training, and being away for awhile?

Hey, isn't a "gor" a lizard like alien creature that goes up against CPT Kirk on Star Trek on a survivalist planet chosen by the Metrons as retribution for trespassing into their space and showing hostile intent?

I don't think it's worth being away from Momma too long. Who would tie my shoes for me?

It's spelled Infantry. No it is not worth it. Being a Line Cook is worth it. You'll be trained on how to go from foxhole to foxhole, fighting position to fighting position and take short orders from the grunts... eggs over easy, steaks-rare, regular coke diet coke... then go back and cook it then return and serve it. Remember, keep the sand out of the food and drinks... you don't want to piss a Infantryman off. And don't drop the ice!

Wow! someone from my era!

BTW, They do not dig foxholes anymore I learned this Summer via a participant in OSUT, no shelter-halfs either (just a Poncho as cover).
