I am planning on taking the YN3 EOCT for the second time. I am a striker and have "heard" different rules for taking the test. I have heard you have 4 hours to complete and others have told me you have all day if needed. I have also been told that you can only take the test 4 times before getting disenrolled for the YN striker program and others have told me that you may take the test as many times as needed. I have been looking for a hard copy set of rules but can't find any. Any assistance would be great. Thanks!
The test rules should be attached to the memo that comes with your test. I do know, however, that there is NO time limit in completing the test. I don't know about now, but I've seen strikers take that test up around 5 or 6 times, there is normally a time limit on how long you can strike before the command would decide that you just aren't getting it, but if it's simply a matter of not so good test taking skills, I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, it's open book, so TAKE your time, ALL OF IT!! Remember, open book tests are normally much harder than closed book, but the answers ARE there and if you take your time, you will find them. Also, take advantage of challenging the questions if you think you should!
Hey, i just took the test a little over a month ago. Youre given 6 hours...pretty much like a work day. Computations seems to be the hardest part of it. There's 50 questions. You can take it a total of 4 times. if you dont pass by the 4th time then you have no choice but to go to A School. I took it twice. Let me know if you have more questions. liljules3@aol.com
There is for YN3! I just completed it at Sector Charleston...im stationed in the CGC Yellowfin. I hear they are doing away with it soon...but it's still going on. It's an online program...so you dont literally sit at someone's deck and learn. You just sign in and complete your little assignments. It's almost like taking an online class.
