Hey guys, E5 here. Got NJP last OCT. I researched the personnel manual's entire SWE chapter/section. In there it does describe the process for waiver requests, but does not specify whether or not the command can request a waiver for the 12months requirement for Good Conduct/No NJP for SWE eligibility for E6. I assume you can "request" a waiver for anything.

Disclaimer: Yes, I think it is a good thing that the policy is in place. Question is though, does anyone think EPM will even consider a waiver like this for a good coastie that made a mistake...or has anyone ever heard of such a request being granted?

Thank you- Jason

You can request a waiver for anything, however, good luck. If you got NJP then the mistake was probably steep enough to warrant NJP. You may be a good Coastie, lots of good Coasties make mistakes, it's human nature. But that specific rule is put in place for a reason, it's part of a punishment, so I highly doubt that it can or will be waived, but good luck!

I always tell people, "The answers are always no, unless your ask."

I would have presume that even if you did ask, this answer would be no.
