I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the YN student striker program. From what I have read, it seems that one can strike YN even if there is not a YN at the striker's unit. Am I reading this correctly? Any info is appreciated.
I'm not sure about that but I DID want to let you know what my recruiter told me. He told me I could strike but it's not always a good idea because You can end up finishing your 6 weeks of A school before you finished the Striker program. Which would really suck if you ask me. I was so set on strike before I heard this. Unless you have other reasons for striking.. I would think about it a little more. =)
Currently, there are only 2 options for those who choose the Yeoman rating: attend school in Petaluma, CA, or utilize the distance learning program. You cannot strike at any unit; if approved for the distance learning program, you will be transferred to a unit that has been selected to participate in the program. Personally, I recommend attending YN "A" school.
Anyone from YN "A" school, feel free to jump in and give your two cents!
Actually, Detailer and Force Manager both say that Striking is mostly likely going to be discontinued. It will be either "A" School or the Distance Learning Program at one of the designated locations.
