Does anyone know if being a tactical coxswain entitles you to an additional 2.0 kicker for your SRB? I was sure that it said so in the SRB message but I cant seem to find it now.

I have the message in my office. I'm using it frequently this time of year as we prepare for transfers (obligated service reenlistments). E-mail me using my global address and I'll pass you the ALCOAST info.

I have a question on SRB's. I'm coming up on my 10 year mark in January which also happens to be my out date. How far out can I do a reenlistment? I've gotten conflicting answers on this. The PERSMAN says 90 days but I've heard (word-of-mouth) that it's 180. Any pointer info you can offer is greatly appreciated!

(Pay no attention to my profile. It's not accurate)

Read the PERSMAN section about SRBs. Pay close attention to a paragraph that starts something like "For those member approaching their 6, 10 or 15 year anniversary........"

I'm familiar with it (it states 90 days). I was hoping there was some "Uninformed Persons Scuttlebutt Manual" out there that stated it was 180 vice 90. It's funny, I asked this same question of 2 YN's and got the "I think you can do it 6 months out." Perhaps they thought I was talking about obligating service.

I guess I shouldn't knock them as I didn't know off the top of my head either.

The only time you can extend/reenlist anymore than 90 days out is when you are obligating service for training/transfer...or more specifically for an SRB, but even that says it has to be within 90 days of your 6 or 10 year anniversary date. Pay close attention to that!!! 1 day over 10 years and you are no longer entitled to an SRB Smile

And the YN's processing this should know that it's only 90 days unless you need to OBLISERV!!

Hope this helped!

The most important thing to remember is that the CG never takes taxes out of anything. They take tax WITHHOLDINGs out. Once you end up filling out the proper tax forms to figure out how much you actually will be TAXED, the IRS will return any extra money they have been holding on too (if any).
