Greetings all!

Just have a question on what kind of qualifications are looked for in someone going for Yeoman in the Direct Petty Officer program.

Currently work for CBP in HR (workforce planning/information analysis - not processing/staffing) and considering a change in positions to our personnel systems division where I would get a chance to do HR systems technical writing and also hopefully specialize in the different cognos software applications - which I believe the USCG also uses to some extent.

I don't know what role reservists play in the Yeoman field, but is this the kind of experience I should be pursuing? Or would it make more sense to try to get some staffing/processing experience?

By the time I'm ready to apply I'll only have two-three years in this position (target grade is GS-12, will be there next July)...
