WIDOWS HUSBAND TOOK A LUMP SUM FOR HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE NAVY WHEN RETIRED. HE WAS IN THE VIETNAM CONFLICT I BELIEVE AT LEAST TWO TIMES. HE NEVER LEFT SHIP WHILE IN VIETNAM WATERS. HE DIED WITH CANCER. BREAST CANCER AND HAD ONE OF HIS FINGERS AMPUTATED BECAUSE OF CANCER. I BELIEVE HE DIED WITH COLON CANCER AND HE ALSO HAD PROSTRATE CANCER IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. ANYWAY MY QUESTION IS CAN SHE DRAW COMPENSATION OFF HIM. DOES THE NAVY VETERANS HAVE TO PROVE AGENT ORANGE??????????

If she is seeking DIC Payment, yes, she will need to prove service connection. Currently there is a lawsuit pending that would allow "Blue Water" Navy to be presumptive exposed to Agent Orange.

If she is simply seeking the death pension, no, she does not need to prove service connection, just that he served in wartime and they were married.
