I was USAR when 9/11 hit, and have since been back in boots - currently on desk duty. I am outprocessing in 5 weeks because I can't physically extend. And I am still in the midst of gaining diagnosis for the condition preventing my continue AD. I do have unrelated clear disability from my service that's rated at 30-40%, but my priority is solving the 'big' problem, whatever that is. Any wisdom as to how I have the system work right for me? The only certainty I know is to have my doctors write up a LOD for the 2 known disabilities. Do I stay AD until the docs have an answer, or until the PEB or MEB is done? Who do I go to for guidance and watching my back - I don't like flapping in the wind not knowing what to do and can't trust my short-term memory loss for things I am told. Any wisdom?
