Hello All, my son's girlfriend is stationed in Ft Bliss, my son is in South Korea. He is coming home in July on leave. They are planning on driving to So Cal and staying here with us. Can we take her to any VA hospital when she goes into labor??? We have a couple that are not far away, Long Beach and Loma Linda. Thanks for any help!!

I see that you said that your sons girlfriend is stationed so does that mean she is in the military currently?

If the girlfriend is active duty, she should call TRICARE (TRIWEST) 888-TRI-WEST and they will walk her through the steps. (www.triwest.com)

In an emergency, the hospital will talk to TRICARE and sort out the details.

However, if it's not an emergency, be very careful about going to a hospital before consulting with TRICARE first.
