Go to: http://www.archives.gov/veterans/evetrecs/

Click on the "Request military records" ****on at the bottom of the page, make sure you print at the end, sign and fax the request to St. Louis (fax number is on the request).

Turn around time I have been seeing by requesting on-line is 2 to 4 weeks compared to 2-4 months with an SF 180
