Hello, I have a question concerning my claim for increased compensation. It was submitted on june 30, 2009. I havechecked on the claim and it was received and being developed. I called on August 6 2009 and was told that there wasn't a claim for iu anywhere. I am curious as to what happened. My VSO supposedly cannot access my sensitive file so I don't know if he can do much. I don't understand why the claim was entered and now it has disappeared. Any help or comments would be great.

You posted in the wrong place so it did not get an answer. I have linked it to the right place.

MY FRIEND
Your VSO may not be able to access your file at the moment because it is being "developed" Not because it disappeared. This has still been a relative short time in VA terms...I would cut your VSO some slack and give him another 30 days or so.

From my experience, it is very difficult to get "good information" as to the status of your claim(s). Your VSO can't "see" much in your electronic file. When you call the 1-800 number, you will most likely get a different answer everytime. Same with an IRIS inquiree.

My suggestion is calling the 1-800 number every 2 weeks.... but don't put much hope into the answers. If you get 2 or 3 answers that are the same, then it may be close to correct.

Here we are in 2009 and the VA hasn't yet developed a system that Vets can get good information about their claims. Its a pathetic situation.

Hang in there. Don't give-up.
