Congratulations, that's awesome. Any idea when you head to WOCS?

I was told to expect WOCS in November. I am also told to be ready in case of a short fall, someone dropping a date and my unit sending me to cover it. We are supposedly getting lots of short falls since we are getting activated in the next 12 to 18 months.
How is your process going? Aren't you also waiting for an age waiver?

Yeah I was picked up May. I have been reading these forums for years however and seen countless age waiver questions. I know your selection will inspire many others to not give up. Enjoy that three month wait, feels like an eternity to me.

LOL!! Yeah, I heard about that. Maybe I can get Household 0-6 to put on the bikini and draw some attention to our plight?

Good deal Ramadi, that kicks butt. Have fun. How long did it take for your waiver to go through?

traffic,
I'm scheduled to take the flight physical in Aug at Lewis, with a few weeks to spare for the Sept. board. Everyone has been extremely helpful--definitely a high-speed unit. I couldn't be more pleased with the way things are coming along.

What's happening in your world at the moment?

SERE complete. in the BOLC III-A hold. A few of us are hoping that we will be in Aeromed by the end of October. The waiting is starting to wear.....

But, in all honesty, with the extra time, I have started training for triathlon sprints, just for something to do.

I will PM you with my number in case you need it to ask specifics about the unit and the process. There are a few hang-ups I had that you would do well to avoid.

Sounds like a good time Smile Got your PM--I'll try to give you a call sometime tonight before I head into Flight Ops (I'm on AT, night shift).

It took a solid 2 months to be approved once NGB said they had it. It was lost at one point at NGB and incorrectly submitted by the S1. It was misplaced in the S1 office and sat idle for several months. During that time i got a lot of blank stares when inquiring about my waiver.
Anyway, it took 2 months to get approved. And the latest word is NO WAIVERS, regardless of branch, etc for applicants 40 years of age and older for IERW.

Good news for you, huh, Z? Cutting it close, but if RT's word is right, you should make it no problem.

Congratulations that is awesome news! Good luck to you!

So is under 40 possible across the board (active, reserve, guard)?

I know you will represent the older guys well...I checked your profile before sending this.

Enjoy Rucker!

Probably not for the USAR or AD. Mostly that is for the guard since they can pretty much do anything they want. The nice thing about being a guard pilot is, they have a shortage of applicants and an even greater shortage of QUALIFIED applicants. They are pretty much taking anyone who has the perseverance to apply.

Brother, you said it. Perseverance of a MAD MAN. You're a guard guy so you know what I've dealt with.

GoneFishn, thanks for the compliment, I'll do all of us senior citizens proud! traffic was right on his assessment of applicants and waivers from AD, USAR and NG. 39 years of age is max as per the horse's mouth (CW-5 friend) at NGB.

That's fantastic news. I have a couple years' leeway, but I'm not going to push it any further Smile Thanks for your help the other day--wicked-good stuff.

Ramadi,
Thanks for the info and congratulations again.
