Why do I still post on this website? Oh yeah, It's to downgrade the dumb$h!T post by people.
For the record: WOFT is getting harder but that doesnt mean smarter. . .
The BAttlehawk is going nowhere. . . .
The KW is still a deathtrap. . . .
Fort Rucker is HELL (especially this time of year).

I'm thinking... there's guns, right? But what about all the other cool stuff you get to miss out on.

I imagine safety checks to be a completely different feeling when the crewchief is coming with.

Happy Father's Day, to all the fathers out there.

Flight school. In a paragraph or less.

I agree completely.

I'm sure Alabama is beautiful this time of year.

Live-fire exercises in Kuwait, now that's hell.

My dome cooking in my headgear reminded me of the 'this is your brain on drugs' commercial. It was so hot, I saw Santa.

Have you seen Santa at Rucker?

I don't see a significant mention of the fact that you get to fly helicopters Big Grin

lol I'm just saying. Traipsing around Udairi Range in July, carrying water that is too hot to drink is probably worse than Ft Rucker.

What [more] can the Army do for you, to keep you from talking bad about it on a public forum?

I like being right, but, trust me, I hate having to be a d**k. I just can't let negativity go unanswered. The thing is, it's contageous... contageu... contaigu... contagious.

Hey when I was in Kuwait, they bused us out to the middle of the desert, gave us 15 rounds each and told us to shoot 6 rounds on SEMI and 3 bursts on (3 rd) BURST. Those were the last live rounds that went through my M-16A2 in 8 months. Only a few more months now.

I have almost the same picture... But mine is of a Big Mac, fries, and a Coke from the McDonalds at Ali Al Salem Airfield in Kuwait. Is that where your picture was taken? That blue metal bench looks familiar!

haha the picture is at Beuhring. I think I've stopped in Ali Al Salem once, is that the one with the busted hangar/bunkers?

The fries weren't that bad, actually.

Our budget was good, is all. We hired a contractor to run a two day live-fire field exercise for us at Udairi. I was under the impression everyone went through them while at Beuhring. They seemed like they were a somewhat permanent outfit.

I'll explain everything when I see you in person... if you're cool.

If you're not... I'll just watch you from the bushes!!!!!! Razz

Yeah everyone goes through Camp Beuhring at one point or another. My unit was there from the last week of October 08 to the first week of November 08. The airfield there is so darned far from the billeting areas! It was like a 1/2 mile walk each way when you missed the bus.

Beuhring isn't too bad. The permanent party people there have it good. Transient Soldiers have to live in the big tents with 50+ other guys and sleep on cots. (Yeah I know a lot of other Soldiers have had it worse) I love the main DFAC on Beuhring! Probably the nicest one I've seen thus far.

At best, it would be a quick retro fit, something QRF related when no REAL guns are available but I seriously doubt we will see battalions of these things starting to creep up in the near future and replace the aircraft we have in inventory.

Now, if Sikorsky could just find a replacement for the KW.....

I think the world is looking for an aircraft that has power to spare at 9000 feet and 40 degrees C with the exception of the SR-71.

It seems to me that the Battlehawk is going to be a waste of money.

Especially during a time when you have unemployed LT's waiting for almost a year to go to flight school that are working at Taco Bell.

LT's are the least of the Army's concern at this juncture. Just sayin.
