I need some advice on whether or not I should request a new recruiter.

The recruiter I was assigned to scheduled a meeting and never showed, never called and never followed up...

I called the next day and he said he was busy and would call me back...Well that was a week ago and still no call...

Should I be concerned or just ask for another recruiter? I didn't want to step on any toes or create drama between coworkers...

I understand people get busy and forget sometimes but I think I gave the guy enough time to follow up with me...

Any advice???

My advice is to call the station commander, advise him/her of what went on, and ask for someone else.

I actually spoke with the station commander the day I went in for the appointment...He happened to be the only person in the office...He said he would tell my recruiter that I came in and have him call me...Strange how it seems like I'm walking in circles...lol...

Would the recruiter get in trouble for something like this? My intention is to get my package completed, not get someone in trouble or seem like a jerk by complaning...

was it your initial visit? If so I'd find another recruiter from a different station. He obviously either isn't interested in getting you in, or he has some major issues he's taking care of that is keeping him from taking care of you. Either way, its not good for you. If the station commander didn't square him away, then you are not that big of a priority. I've heard lots of people complain about AD recruiters and WOCS packets. Its a lot of work for them to do and if they just aren't motivated then its gonna make life hard for you. So goto another local recruiter let him know what happened and where you were in the process and pick it back up with him.
Best of luck

Ok kingjr27: You want some advice...

Your profile states you are AD AF; this means you are "supposed" to compete on the AD DOD board which meets every other month. The USAREC Warrant site explains all of this. You should get your packet done on your own and avoid a recruiter if you can help it. Civilians, guard, reserves (from sister services) go through street recruiters. I fought this battle already. Recruiters weren't interested in me or my packet, so I took control of my selection. I got all my stuff squared away at an Army post. I'm AD AF waiting to outprocess the AF and go into the Army for 153A. My thought is that a recruiter will slow you down. I found an awesome recruiter to get me an appt to MEPS after my selection orders came through (RFO). They loved me because all the work to get selected was already accomplished. They jumped on the chance to get the points after I got my reservation at MEPS. There are plenty of people out there that are willing to show/tell/advise you how to get this done. Hope this helps.

Well I gave the recruiter another chance and once again he stood me up...Man was I pissed, especially since I missed two meetings waiting for him...So after work, I drove down and spoke with the SFC in charge of the station...He wasn't too pleased when I told him what happened again...To make a long story short, he took control of the situtation and has become my new recruiter...We filled out the conditional release ppwk and a few other things and he gave me his personal gurantee that I would be meeting the Aug. WOC board...Sounds like we are back on track...Thanks for the info everyone...
