Hi, I was wondering which military branch, Airforce, Army, Navy, Marine or Coast Guard, could I easily or be guaranteed a pilot slot or flight training? I love to fly but don't have any money to continue training. thanks.
I had a buddy who joined the marines and was suppose to go to flight school, but when he got there, they said he was color blind. Shouldnt they have found that out a little earlier? Well, he was put into needs of the marines and was put into a transpo unit and got wounded in Iraq. This is a somewhat personal experience though, but really turns me away from the marines.

The B.S. flag is raised full mast on this one! In order to go to flight school in the Marines, you have to be an officer and to become a commissioned officer in the Marine Corps you have to have a bachelors degree and have completed OCS. In order to even start your package for flight school after you have gotten your bachelors degree and completed OCS ,you would have gotten a physical. The will not even consider or even send you to flight school if you are color blind. Officers in the Marine Corps don't go needs of the Marine Corps, the pick what they wanna do. So to spew incorrect information like this is very unprofessional on your part. There is no EASY path to become a pilot. It takes hard work and dedication to flight helicopters or jets. The question is what type of aircraft do you want to fly?..jets or helicopters? To fly jets, your options are the Navy, Marine Corps, and the Air Force. But if you want to fly helicopters, you have the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Army, and the Coast Guard. By the way to even get into the service, you need a physical. That physical alone would have told your Marine friend that he was color-blind. So pretty much what you said jaredm2525 was B.S.

I'm gonna call shenanigans on that one. Everyone in the military is in one way or another subject to the needs of their service.
I've known a few people who made it through flight physicals only to get DQ'd later on for a condition that existed the whole time and was waived or was never caught in the first place. I just talked to one guy today in a similar situation.
