What type of job are you looking for? There's everything from Security Officer at the gates to Airfield Operations, and can't forget the cooks at the airfield grease trap.

I am a AMT1 and have been working on HH60J model aircraft for the past 12 years and have a few years working on HC130s and HU25 falcon jets while serving in the Coast Guard.I do not have a A&P yet but that is my next step before retiring next year I really like the area along with the family. just not sure how it would be to get employment in the there. every little piece of information would help.

I'm not familiar with the employment process at Rucker, but I'm sure that with your A&P, you shouldn't have an issue with finding a job. Again, I'm just a pilot in training so take my advice with a grain of salt.

There are several companies around this area that might be looking for people, in fact Sikorsky has put radio ads that they're looking for people. Sikorsky has a plant in Troy, Bell helicopters has one in Ozark, Army Fleet Support here on Rucker, Dynacorp (I think that's what it is), and many more around here.

Take a look at this link here, EOCC usually keeps a good database of current job openings.

Good luck
