I know that training at Fort Rucker is fast-paced once you're in class, but I'm not very familiar with the curriculum of the 15Q. How hard would it be to get a couple of students into a -60 or a -47 for a few hours or so at the stagefield or something so that they have an idea of what's required in the aircraft? A couple of days ago one of the flight students visited the tower and the AIT students began asking questions about why it irritated us when we had our lanes switched at the last second or why we don't do roll on landings with an aircraft at the extreme other end of the lane. It just seems to me that a lot could be learned by them just by observation of a flight student struggling on the controls (because if the IP's were flying, it would seem too easy).

Might be something to look into. It might be as simple as making a phone call and getting them on the manifest. I think it would be a great experience for them and improve relations down the road.

Something to talk to HHC 110th AVN BDE about.

We flew some AIT guys in to the FOB on Rucker (where you go during candidate school) so it's been done before. Not a bad idea though, I'd run with it.
