ZoWnX, thanks, but I have already downloaded that template. It's sort of vague. For example, It says to write on at least the 12th grade level, but I don't know whether I should be writing in 1st person or 3rd person. I have a former military friend that says I should be writing in bullet format. Point is, it doesn't really give an example of how to write the resume... it just says what should be in it.
To be honest I havent seen a copy of my resume since I sent it.
Ill check with some friends and see if they have theirs.
There are lots of us in Aviation now.
Ill email you my addy for when you get ready for letters or recommendation if you don't have any yet. I can get you hooked up at Rucker or you are always welcome to come to Savannah and I can get you hooked up with some CW5's here.
I was wondering if you mind sending me a copy of your resume as well? I've got the sample in front of me, but I thought the actual written exmaple of a fellow, former applicant might help me undertstand what information the Army will find pertinent to this endeavor.
yep, I will send you the "sanitized" version of it on Wednesday. It's on my shared drive at my work computer.
The link above here that ZoWnX put up is good, and mine looks about the same (but longer). The only thing I would add to his was that his sentence structure could have used some polishing, but other than that, it was a good resume.
Cool, thanks man. Knowing you're a Guard guy, I figured your resume would contain more listings under "civilian experience pertinent to MOS," which is what I need some more examples of. I want this thing to be "spot-on" as it's the weakest part of my packet -- I've got great test scores, good grades, my stepfather owns several airplanes, so I've been around them my whole life, but I've been bartending for the last several years. Oh yes Sir, of course I'm ready to fly your Army's aircraft, I've been making margaritas for the past few years.
Well, a good Presidente' Margarita will help even the most unconfident of pilots! Telling your class that you were a bartender will make quite the popular guy at class weekend get-togethers.
My civil experience only lists my flight experience, licenses, and hours. But, every little bit helps when you are putting a packet together.
