Any experience with the 4-6 ACS up at Lewis? I'm heading there in a couple months and can't find much on the unit. Any info (contact information, experiences etc.) would be sweet. Thanks.

I'm in A Troop here. I still don't know how this new military.com format works, but if you can figure out how to PM me, I'd be happy to give you contact info and answer any questions you might have. Do you fly -58s or Blackhawks?

yea, I can't figure out how to get permission to PM somebody...but if you'd be willing to look me up on AKO and shoot me an e-mail, that'd be great!!! I'm a 60 pilot.

Lecia,

How are you guys doing for -60 pilots up there? My buddy is about to start the -60 course and put FL down as his first choice and am wondering what you manning levels are looking like.

The Blackhawk guys tell me they're pretty over-strength, but I have no idea how their numbers compare to other units. Some people give me the impression that Blackhawks are over-strength everywhere? But the guys I know in progression here seem to be getting decent flight time. It's looking like we'll deploy early next year. I'm sure that will have some inscrutable effect on whether they bring in more new people from Rucker.

Robert- 4-6 is composed of three OH-58 troops (A-C) and one UH-60 troop (D). You may feel a little like a red-headed stepchild at times because a lot of the squadron classes focus on -58s. I think it's one of only two air cav squadrons in the country, so it's a unique organization. I like it here. I'll get back to you on AKO this evening with more information.
