I'm (supposedly) a mechanic in the army. I haven't done my job yet, and am told I won't be doing it this deployment, because civilian contractors are doing my job for me. I know that there are a lot of civilian contractors doing this with/for the Army overseas. I was just wondering if there are also civilians who fly for the Army.

Couldn't resist that.

I'll take that as a compliment. Nothing like a civilian that doesn't know any better...tearing down bureaucratic walls and B.S. to get the job done because they don't pay attention to obstacles (rank and position) that get in their way. Wink

And Cozi will never be a Warrant, so problem solved.

I am really surprised she even wrote that being with the 82nd and all. I'm not surprised often on this website but that first post really surprised me. Confused

It would seem Cozi still doesn't get that she is to claim all glory for the 82nd.

haha I think what we have here is a superiority violation!

(my rofl was more in response to gumbydammit's post... civilian contractor is a new one for me)

in an unenthused, bored voice "Glory to the 82nd"

So I guess you guys are telling me that KBR, or some other civilian contractor, doesn't have pilots, huh? Weird, they have everything else that the Army does. Too bad.

They do have contractor pilots. There are several here at Rucker teaching us yahoos how to fly.

There are other companies other than KBR out there playing "Army". Dyncorp, PAW and a few others have their own aircraft and aircrews that fly missions in support of these theaters of operation.
