The only thing I knew is that is is 3 weeks long thanks to yalepilot which is good to know since i heard it was a 6 months. would anyone know any websites I could go to to find any info on SERE-C?

and is this done right after WOCS or is it after WOFT?

Google SERE, and if you look around a bit, there was one website I found that describes everything you're allowed to know about it. Everyone seems to hate the waterboard the worst. It seems to be more of an experience than a school; IE: having to go through the gas chamber at boot just to familiarize yourself with the feeling of CS in your lungs. If so many people have made it through there already, I doubt it could be that bad (Bunch of OPFOR's wearing different BDU's.) Rumor has it now that it is after WOFT. I remember someone saying Army is working on trying to eventually get it slotted for after WOC, during the bubble.

I've heard a number of things about it from my friend who went through it at Camp Mackall but from what I hear, its classified. Besides, that's Bragg, not Fort Rucker. It will not be fun but there are thousands of aviators that have gone through it and done just fine. The only thing I am concerned about is I heard everyone loses 10 pounds from not eating and I can not afford to lose that so I am going to have to bulk up beforehand.

SERE at Rucker is changing, Your buddies at Bragg who talk about it sign the same statement that is done here. So its all "confidental" that being said there is a major component missing from Rucker's SERE that doesn't make it C level. Google it.

As for Mike Durant, unfortantly Mr. Durant is no longer involved closely with US Army SERE programs. He has moved on to the private speaking sector, which is probably much nicer.

Personally SERE being upgraded is gonna be great for Army aviation, and for the Army as a whole. Its gonna be moved to the front of Flight School which is a much better place for it.

The latest "Army Aviation" magazine has it going to C in January. I know the camp is built cause I've flown over it a few dozen times. It's not hidden or anything crazy. But, rumors say it will be open earlier. I've been hearing that for over a year now so who knows what to believe.

I believe Reid and myself, along with others on the board are due to complete WOCS in late November so we my be "fortunate" enough to go through C if that January timeline holds up.

Good Morning All,

I wasn't sure where to post this question and if this is the wrong spot please show me the way!! OK here is my quetsion my husband has been out of the Military for 4 years and thougt about re-joining. He wants to become a Warrant Officer but doesn't know if can just get in as his MOS or if he has to go through 4-5 years and be atleast an E-5. I am sure these are questions for a recurtier but its nice to ask a person who actually been there and done that. Any advice would be nice. This is his passion and I will do all the research it takes to get him the answers. Now that he is out I know he regrets everyday getting out. No matter what I am proud of him.
Thanks-ProudArmyRangerWife

With all the new rules I think it only takes a couple of days to get your E5 now. 2 weeks if you commit a felony while on active. Any one else heard this?

Go to this site: http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/warrant/

Google flight school, get all the info you can then get started. The biggest hurdle is getting the ball rolling. Well maybe not the biggest.

I had the same problem when I went to the recruiting station. BTW, I am prior service and currently working on a flight packet. Anyway, they recruiter I spoke to was so discouraging, I was depressed for days until I decided to do some more research. Luckily, my husband works with someone who knows a recruiter and gave me his #. I spoke with him and he is more than happy to help.

Sometimes you just need to look for a second opinion (for lack of a better word). Don't let a lazy recruiter kill your dream.

My WOCS reservation says 7 weeks and 2 days. And I report almost 3 weeks before the class begins.

For civilians, is the AFAST administered at MEPS or at the ED Center and what is the cost, if any. I know for AD and Reserve it is done at the ED Ctr free of charge.

Also, who schedules the test...the recruiter?

Thanks in advance.

I talked to a 2LT who just finished Apache range AQC. He said the new POW camp looks pretty authentic, from the one quick glance he got. He mentioned that it looks like it will be up and running by Oct.

Two pretty good SERE links I found:

here

and here

I CANT WAIT!!!!

When soldiers are brought to the mock prison, already sleep-deprived and hungry from a week on the run, they are isolated in rows of small pens too small to fully recline or stand up. They are kept awake for days, moved about with bags on their heads, stripped naked and interrogated using techniques to provoke humiliation and shame.

"They had me remove my clothes" in the interrogation room, the Ranger said. A bag was put over his head, and a woman began speaking. " 'You are fat,'" he remembered her saying. "'You have the smallest dick I have ever seen.'" He called the experience "humiliating and degrading."

Also check with local colleges to see if they have an ROTC program. If they do and they have an Army liason they can give you the test.
