Well, I failed my hearing test at MEPS last week. On the 4000hz range the limit was a 55, I tested at a 60. My recruiter says that there is a waiver available for this, is this true?
The good news is I scored a 98 on the ASVAB with a 137 GT. I have been studying and preparing for WOFT for almost a year now, I refuse to just give up. I have always dreamed of being a helicopter pilot and I know there has to be a way. Do they look at test scores when they consider a waiver? What should I do? How do I overcome this and get into the cockpit? |

Lots of people fail their hearing test. I did. A waiver is possible, but have you tried re-testing yet? Schedule a re-test, wear ear plugs from the time you wake up that day, and be aggressive with that button! You were pretty darn close to passing the first time. Re-testing is much easier than getting a waiver.
