Just found out I may be filling the AVUM XO slot at my first unit. Anybody shed any light on what my general duties are going to be. Anyone been in that position before? My unit is going to NTC a couple weeks after I get there and Iraq early next year so I want to be able to hit the ground at least walking

Our was the commander of the 70+ people at the FOB since we were split. It was a standby until a line troop PL positioned opened. What aircraft? For some its much more dependent on the AVUM due to type of aircraft.
