Holy crap, did they change the training aircraft already!?....Anyways, you don't get much solo time maybe like 2 to 2.5 hrs if that and really it's not a "Solo", you're still flying with your stick buddy.

Good catch. That's the designator for the Navy's trainer. Never did understand why they are different.

That what happens when you're over 30 yrs old, the mind starts to go.

By the way, when are you putting in for OCS?

Yeah, solo flights are suspended for the while... well, solo as in just with your stickbuddy due to "flight control anomolies." BTW it's the badass (I use this term rather loosely...) TH-67, not TH-57....

Odd, we got told here that the "flight control anomaly" thing was untrue. As far as I know, "solo flight" is still going on.

Nope, it's definitely true. I'm in Primary right now and we get briefed on it every day. Now, there are "solos" but your IP is with you in the cockpit but doesn't do anything. He's there should any of the anomalies occur.

Just to add, it's only occuring with Primary aircraft out of Cairns. And they still ahve no idea what is causing it..

HUH!?....why would I do that? Did you hear something that I didn't hear? Should I put in for OCS?

Thats really too bad. The solo flight was a huge milepost, as well as a nice confidence booster.

Just scared the sh** out me as I recall...I "got" to fly with a "pilot" that was not my stickbuddy (that individual was on their second recycle--my class made it their third).

No thanks. Big Grin

I heard some "other" students got lost and ended up just racing cars on the highway before return to Lowe.

Just a story I heard however......

Like Caroline has stated, right now while you're in your primary phase of flight school, there are no more "solo" flights because of the hydraulic anamolies(spelling) that have been happening with the TH-67. You still do a "solo" flight but your IP is in the aircraft with you monitoring the helicopter.
And to clear the air, YOU DO NOT SOLO DURING FSXXI!
