Hi, I am about to ship off to Basic as a 15Q. I was wondering from anyboy here that is or was a 15Q/15P wether they get to go home after AIT training. I know with my friends in the ANG they have to get check out at a facility; get their rating. Thats like aother year after Basic and Tech school. Do you have to go through the same process in the Army?

I know Regular Army component 15Q's get 10 days of leave (plus HRAP time if you do that) and than report directly to their units. You will not be specifically sent somewhere just to get a rating, like I believe the ANG does.
