Okay so I'm a newly commissioned 2LT that goes to BOLC III May 25, 2010. I am unemployed and can't find a job. I have a wife, a kid and a mortgage that I will likely have foreclosed on me if I can't come on active duty sooner than that.
I need to talk to my branch manager to try and change that to a sooner date. Does anyone on here know who my branch manager is and how I can get ahold of them? Any help in the right direction would be much appreciated. Respectfully 2LT Unemployed.
trafficmp you are the man. Thank you so much. BTW I'm also taking it up the chain and trying to see if I can work it that way. If it comes down to it I'll talk to Sen Murray. Thanks for the info about that as well. Man if I ever run into you drinks are on me.
I talked to Ms. Twyford and she isn't in charge of BOLC II dates but she did put me in touch with a Dilia Ortiz who is in charge of BOLC II dates. Thank you again.
I'm not sure. Miss Ortiz is on leave until Monday so we'll see. I don't know if she'll be able to help since they're getting rid of BOLC II. I'm still skeptical about that but I've heard it from my LT. Col. so who knows. Ms. Twyford sounded like a really nice lady so hopefully something can get done.
Hey Traffic do you fly CH-47's with the WA Nat. Guard?
Nope, I am still at Rucker learning to fly it. Although, since the unit is pretty small, I know the guys who flew you up there.
The ROTC mission s a lot of fun for us. It gets us hours, and we get to f&** with you guys when you are as tired as you are.
Although, in our defense, we have to kick the thing out of trim every now and then to blow back the smell you guys generate. Airflow moves forward in the -47 and with you guys in the back its like being sealed a hot dumpster with week old garbage and baby diapers filled with Indian food. It's "fly half a ball width out so we can breathe."
Seriously, though. The mission is looked forward to every year. A lot of new LT's here ask if I fly for that group when we get to BS'ing about LDAC and such. Lots of them still remember their rides as the best time out of those crappy few weeks. That means a lot. Kind of a self pat-on-the-back.

=========================== So what will the new course/system will look like? Will it revert back to the OBC structure? I am overdue on getting to my branch training. Does ATTRS have the new dates? Any helpful insight is appreciated.
So I have finally got hired. Cadet Command was authorized to hire some LT's and since I ****ed and moaned so much they hired me. Probably so they didn't have to listen to me anymore.
Gold Bar Recruiting is boring but at least I have a pay check so wont be complaining at all.
Traffic yeah alot of the Cadets at LDAC were really excited about it. I bet we do stink. That is like day 6 to day 10 of not taking a shower. Are you still going to be at Ft. Rucker May of 2010. If so I'll see ya there. I still owe you a beer.
Send me your email. I would like to contact you and see what you did and who you called to get gold bar recruiting. I will be in the same boat pretty soon. I was an end of camp commission and going before the standby board. I have a feeling I am going to be waiting a while to get paid if I don't work a gold bar recruiting position. thanks

Wow, man, seriously, that is great news to hear. I am glad things started to work out for you.
Thankfully, no, I will not be at Rucker during the time you specified. I will be back home, getting ready to head overseas to the high-desert for 14 months with my unit. If you are ever on the west end of the mountains, PM me. I'll happily let you spend some of that paycheck at Doyles Pub in Tacoma.

Swolefish. Cadet Command gave out 104 early GBR slots on a case by case basis. Your PMS has to apply for you. I have a kid, wife and mortgage. Good luck bro.
