Just got off the phone with the Guard unit doing my flight physical. I did it this weekend, and I have to have to to Rucker and stamped off by Aug.15 so I can have it before an accessions board (ROTC).
I just got told I would have to fast again and come in the morning to redo blood because my HDL level was 67 and it has to be between 40-60mg. I just read where between 40-60 was normal, and anything above was actually better because it was "good" cholesterol. I had to redo my blood already once because my glucose level was a little high because I forgot and drank a Gatorade in the morning before I gave the blood. What is the deal? The longer these people take getting my blood the shorter I have time for it to clear rucker and available for the board. They do have Aero computer system so they can send it to Rucker via internet, but do you guys think I will be able to have it clear Rucker by Aug. 15th?? |

I wish I had thought of that.
Man, what are they thinking over there at flight med? Dude, they should realize you do not have this kind of time to waste! Did you try explaining this to them? It seems pretty clear to me, you were just exceeding the standard of 40-60, with a bit of Gatorade for good measure. Don't redo your physical, and instead just amend the one you've got with what you wrote in your post. Shouldn't be a big deal. They should see the error in their ways, the might even fast track you to an Apache slot. |
