The gunner on an Apache is a pilot. So, no you would not ever have the possibility to be a gunner. As far as job description goes, you would be working on whatever aircraft you chose to work on. ie: 15T= Blackhawk, 15U= Chinook, 15R= Apache, and I forget the MOS # for Kiowa but you get the idea. 15T's and 15U's will eventually become part of the aircrew and be a crewchief.
I know I'm jumping ahead of myself right now because i haven't even complete basic yet but my dream has been for awhile to fly in a apache and i jumped at the chance of even working on one because at the time i thought that i would become a crew chief of something along those lines but now I'm kind of disappointed. So basically i guess that i would have to go threw warrant officer school to be able to even fly in one? Or be a gunner?

Both the Pilot and CPG (Co-pilot/gunner) can shoot. Yesterday I did my back seat night gunnery table and it was a load of fun. A lot easier from the back seat, but that's just my opinion. If you really want to fly, work you butt off and make a good name for yourself. Pilots are willing to help those that work hard.
I was a 15R for about 2 weeks when I first got into the NG from the Navy. The recruiter somehow figured that the job I did in the Navy was the same as a 15R...so I came in as that until I went to Infantry School which was what was on my contract.
Funny thing is...I worked on ejection seats on the F14B Tomcat. Not sure how he figured it was the same...unless the Army has installed ejection seats in the Apache in the last few years!
