I know you should be about done with BWS. I am 4 weeks into instruments and I just wanted to know how the aircraft selection process went. I heard that some classes lost the OML and others were only using checkride scores and the PT test to compute the OML and not including academic test scores. Anyway, if you have already selected, let me know how it went and how many of each airframe were available. Thanks.
Just goes to show you never know what you will get. After the first 6, they stopped calling names. I don't even know where I stood in the OML, just got stuck with Blackhawks. But thats what I wanted anyways so I'm happy with the selection. Got the -10 this afternoon and started drinking and I'm already ready to hang myself, so much to learn its ridiculous
I can promise you that you didnt get stuck. I almost chose the 64 and I am so glad I didnt now although the 64 is a great airframe as well.
Dont sweat the -10, your gonna get a solid week of nothing but 5 & 9 and you prob wont understand the whole startup until your ready for your night check so enjoy your time off now. Also the way they teach systems is overcomplicated(imo). the systems are simple so dont overthink them. If you want to impress your IP go ahead and memorize the flight control checks now(chapter 8). Your gonna love it.
Yale, been off for a while been busy. Don't worry about the selection, there is nothing you can do about it. There are awesome 60 pilots, 47 guys, 64 guys even. Surround yourself with the right people and the aircraft doesn't matter. Your gonna enjoy everyday you get in the cockpit, don't worry. The upside to all this Auto could be your IP and that at least will lead to interesting discussion on this board. Good luck man just study and be the best.
