My husband just left for BCT on Tuesday, May 5. Since then my 10 y/o daughter has developed some major anger issues. She is raging against kids at school and her two younger brothers, 7 and 2. She is arguing back and slamming doors. I know she is having a hard time with her daddy being gone, we all are. Still, she has no business acting out like she is. I have contemplated on putting her (and us) in counciling to help get us through this transition.
Any suggestions? I don't know how much more of her "attitude" I can handle. |

Counseling would be a big help I'm sure. Contact Military One Source, or possibly your pastor or priest. Also, check with her school - most schools have a psychologist that at least comes through one day a week or something like that.
Let her teachers know what is going on as well. If they know her dad is gone it will help them understand why she is acting out right now. Sgt Mom |

Chaplain Campbell, who writes the Warriors Sanctuary blog, recently wrote about preventing teen suicide. outside links require approval prior to posting
If you want to contact the chaplain, email chaplains.blog@moscenter.us. He can also refer you to other resources that may be of help. Hope things have taken a turn for the better with your daughter This message has been edited. Last edited by: sgtmom, |
