My wife is deploying soon. I'm a civilian and have to travel periodically in my job and also have a 5-year old (pre-kindergarten) daughter whom I will have to bring with me on my trips. Does anyone know how I could locate day care, babysitting or (preferably) classes or activities for my daughter while we are out of town? Thank you!

why not just hire a live in Nanny for the time period of your spouse's deployment? just hire soemone to come in while you are on your business trips.. Frankly, if I was your boss I would NOT allow you to bring a child.. your business trips are for BUSINESS and I wouldn't want you skipping or being late for a meeting becuase your kids got sick off of room service or you couldn't find a babyssitter..
besides.. do you REALLY want perfect strangers whome you have NOT had the chance to research and conduct background checks on watching your kid?

at least at home you can do research and get to know the craegiver(s) first.

Gotta agree with Mrs here. I also think your daughter would be more at ease at home in her own surroundings rather than in a strange hotel or day care.

Do you have any good friends you would trust to keep your daughter in their own home while you are gone?

Could a grandmother come stay with her or she could go stay with a set of grandparents?
