I am desperately trying to find info on my situation yet to no avail! I am 31 weeks pregnant with our third child...we have a 10y/o girl(my full-time step-daugh) & a 3y/o son. My H is stationed at The School of Music in Norfolk & the rest of us are residing in ATL. Now, we have our first PCS orders for Ft. Knox after he is done...which is scheduled Dec.11th. Not a big deal except I am due Dec.10th!!! So we have no family around & I have been completely dependent upon others to finish the house to out it on the (bad) ATL market & relocate. My children & I are feeling very weary now as the time has drug on, H has been gone since May. I must also mention that this is our first PCS together,as my H just recently rejoined the ARMY after having a civilian job for 9 years. So this is all new to me!

I have been hanging on, I got the house remodeled & everything cleared out by the grace of God! However, I suppose my questions are.....Can I move Nov 1? I will be around 35 weeks. Can we still be reimbursed for a DITY? We are SO anxious to settle b4 having a baby. I really feel the need to try to settle for my 3 y/o's sake b/c he is very clingy right now & I don't want to do everything at once. I also do not wish to try to PCS with a newborn & my daughter is needing very much to get re-plugged in right now. I feel their anxiety & I am desperate to move b/c I am seconds away from a nervous breakdown. I really don't think that I & the kids can hold out much longer. At least if we move, there is some sort of settlement being established. What do I do????Please help!!!!

Whether or not you should move Nov 1 may be up to your doctor. Can he refer you to a doctor in the Ft Knox area that will take you on this far along in your pregnancy?

Can you afford to move if the house has not sold? If you are in base housing at Ft Knox, you will still be making the house payment. If out in town, you'll be making a house payment and rent on the place there.

DITY moves do get paid back. Are you sure you want to do a DITY being pregnant?

No matter when you make this move it will be stressful for you. You may also want to consider that you (hopefully) have friends and a support system in place there in Atlanta. While you would meet other spouses of the unit in Ft Knox, it can take some time to make friends. Hopefully the unit would have a good Spouse Support group to come to your aid if you move, have the baby, still getting the house set up, etc all at once.

I know it is stressful right now and there are a lot of things up in the air. I know that you want to get to Ft Knox and get settled. But, take a long, hard look at things. It might be best to wait in Atlanta for a bit before moving to Knox.
